Attention: All members who use the association, and it’s facilities must be members of the association or the paid guest of an active member.
Our monthly trap shoots are held between April and December; we are moving them to the first Saturday of the month instead of the first Sunday. New signup window is between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Berks League shoots will continue to be held on a Sunday as scheduled.
No scrap or other materials are to be removed from club property without the expressed consent of an Association Officer or Board member.
Hard copy newsletters and renewal reminder postcards will no longer be mailed. Postage rates are unsustainable. We will send all communications from here to forward via E-mail blasts. This only works if we have your E-mail address on file.
PISTOLS THAT ARE ALTERED WITH ANY PIECE OF EQUIPMENT THAT PROVIDES SUPPORT BY ANY BODY PART OTHER THAN THE HANDS, SUCH AS A RIFLE SHOULDER SUPPORT, STABILIZING BRACE (MP5, SP5, ETC.) OR TACTICAL RAPID FIRE, ARE PROHIBITED ON THE STEEL TARGET PISTOL RANGE.

2022 CHANGES

We are now posting updated quarterly newsletters on our web site and only mailing one hard copy newsletter per year during July. We have changed our monthly trap shoots from the first Sunday of the month to the first Saturday of the month, November 5th and December 3rd. Berks County Trap League shoots are scheduled for Sunday November 6th and Sunday December 4th.

Hunter Education

We unhappily had to cancel our August, 2022 Hunter Ed course. We only had five students registered and three of our instructors were unable to participate due to prior commitments or sickness. We will try again 2023.

Trapshooting

Perry took 6th place in the 2022 Berks County Amateur Trapshooting league. We also lost to Lenhartsville in the 2022 Monday Evening League that ran May through end of September. Perry is in 6th place in the 2022- 2023 Berks Intervalley League. We welcome all shooters to compete on our trapshooting team.

Big Game Contests

Garren Spohn won the 2022 longest turkey beard contest with a 10-1/2 inch entry taken in Berks County. The next bear and deer contests end at 8:00 p.m. on 1/31/2023 and 2/28/2023 respectively. Bring your harvests to the club for measurement. All winning awards for all big game contests are increased to $75.

MEMBERSHIP

Renewal postcard reminders are mailed approximately 6 weeks before your expiration date. However, it is your responsibility to know your card’s expiration date and pay the $20 renewal fee before expiration in order to avoid the additional $10 re-join fee. We encourage everyone to pay with credit card on-line. Click on the Make A Payment tab for all available products.

WEB SITE CHANGES

We have changed our payment carrier back to PayPal. The other carrier didn’t work out; but changes in WooCommerce now makes it clearer and easier to pay for new membership, renewals, guest passes, as well as other available products. Occasionally we will post raffle tickets on the web site, When you order and pay we will complete the ticket stubs and mail you the remainder of the tickets.

18th and 19th Annual Women On Target® Clinics

The second of the 18th annual Women On-Target® program was held on September 10th at Perry. This program is financially supported by the NRA Foundation. These are non-competitive, instructional clinics in recreational shooting and hunting sports for women only. The courses include instruction in safe firearms handling, hands-on pistol, rifle, shotgun and archery shooting. We congratulate the thirty-nine (39) ladies who completed the course this past September. Similar clinics are planned for June 17, 2023 and September 9, 2023. We will post those events for pre-registration sometime during the first quarter of 2023.

2022 Board Shoots

The next Board shoot is on November 13th and the final one for 2022 is on December 11th. Sign-up for each begins at 8:30 a.m. and the shoots start at 9:00 a.m. You are competing for very nice meat trays from Christman’s in Oley. Splatter boards and strip tickets for meat trays are also sold during those events. For every entry sign-up your name is also entered in a special drawing after the December shoot for a Cabela’s gift card. Seven (7) Board shoots are planned for 2023, April, May, June, September, October, November and December.
